As a wild acid producer, he takes on the role of Recluse, shedding light on the disturbing underbelly of his dark sonic world. His first release was simply entitled Acid New York, and after its success, he quickly followed up with Acid Music Studio 7.0 Serial Number Generator. He uses this name as an homage to New York City's early 20th century industrial revolution where industries like film production boomed alongside the art scene that existed in Lower Manhattan. He explains that his sound is more inspired by "the roar of factories than anything else." Presently residing in Amsterdam, Recluse also has roots in Paris and Berlin. He expresses his passion for the "dark, industrial sounds of the past", and he claims that he is greatly influenced by artists such as Burial and DJ Shadow, whom he cites as some of his biggest influences. Recluse also produces bass music under his stage name Recluse, which has been described as "powerful, dark and eerie". He has released music under the alias and produced and mixed tracks for artists such as Kavinsky (Nightcall), Joy Electric (Night Music), Love is Blind (Night Music), A-Trak (Sex on Fire) and others.Recluse's first official release was Acid New York in 2010 on Cosmic Bridge Records. His first EP as Recluse was Night Music on Tommy Boy Records, released in 2013. In 2012, he remixed Kavinsky's Nightcall from the film Drive for The Immigrants Soundtrack Remixes. In 2013, he produced and mixed a track for Joy Electric called Night Music which was featured on the compilation album The Church of the Technochrist available on Ghostly International. Recluse was also featured as a remixer for A-Trak's song Sex On Fire from his album "Parking Lot" (2014). Recluse's remixes have been supported by a variety of artists such as Hudson Mohawke, Mercer, Nguzunguzu, Salva and others. In 2011 Recluse was handpicked by Parisian club management team Cave Bleu to join the roster of artists for their monthly series Geheimaktion together with other notable producers such as Kavinsky and Brodinski. The entire Geheimaktion series has since been re-released on vinyl through Beatink Records in 2014. When asked about his work with Cave Bleu Recluse said: "I only hope it will inspire some sort of movement". In 2012 Recluse began touring as part of the line-up for Kavinsky's live show as his opening DJ/Music Director. When speaking about the experience Recluse stated: "I started thinking that I'm not just playing music for a bunch of people — I'm building scenes, scenes that should exist and scenes that seem like they should exist. It was very inspiring and it still is."
